With Woodford United having defied any pre-season expectations and going into an unexpected top of the table clash against Blisworth so early in the season, they've put themselves in a very strong position to challenge themselves amongst the top half of the league moving forward.
The manager had this to say after the game:
"First of all well done to the Blisworth ground staff. Considering all the rain over recent days the pitch was in great condition.
"The Woodford lads gave another very committed performance but struggled to get any decent possession in the opposition's half throughout the game and therefore not really able to create many good-quality goalscoring opportunities.
"Blisworth scored a goal from the penalty spot mid-way through the second half and it took a fine performance from skipper Robson Kightly playing in-goal for the absent Joe Haynes to keep the final score 1.0 to Blisworth.
"Thanks to Blisworth FC for their hospitality after the game.
"We move onto next Saturday with a home league cup fixture against Medbourne Fc 2 o’clock kick-off"
